About this position

The Director of Finance will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of the company, providing strategic financial guidance, and driving financial planning and analysis. This position requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and strategic thinker with experience in the SaaS industry.

Job Requirements

  • Financial Strategy and Planning
    • Develop and implement financial strategies that support the company's business objectives and growth plans.
    • Lead the financial planning and budgeting process, including forecasting and financial modeling.
    • Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projections.
  • Financial Management and Reporting
    • Oversee all financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance.
    • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, including GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Revenue Management and Optimization
    • Monitor and manage the company's revenue streams, ensuring optimal pricing strategies and revenue recognition practices.
    • Analyze key financial metrics, including ARR, MRR, churn rate, LTV, and CAC, to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
    • Implement and manage effective financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets.
  • Investment and Funding
    • Oversee the management of the company’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing.
    • Work with investors, banks, and other financial institutions to secure funding and manage investor relations if needed.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the finance department.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial accountability across the organization.
  • Risk Management
    • Identify and manage financial risks, including market, operational, and credit risks.
    • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
    • Ensure appropriate insurance coverage and manage relationships with insurance providers.
  • Internal Operations
    • Manage and oversee company/department system administration and subscriptions management.
  • Human Resources
    • Manage payroll and new hire processes through PayChex.
    • Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and issues.
    • Manage relationships with benefit providers and negotiate contracts.
    • Help to implement programs to boost employee engagement and retention.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures by managing the company handbook.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
    • Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality and data protection.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within the SaaS industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SaaS metrics and financial drivers.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
